What We Do
The Coalition for Collaborative Governance advocates for the City of Lawrence to fully align its culture, policies, and practices with its Strategic Plan.
We advocate for the City to become more transparent, collaborative, and accountable in its relationship with its community members.
Our coalition will offer insightful resident analysis of several City projects to identify practices that ened improvements and successful practices that could be employed across all government departments.
Our resident knowledge and analysis will provide a foundation for improvements in our City’s processes and in our community’s relationship with our government. Our coalition may take stances on specific policies if our coalition has researched them deeply and agreed upon them.
We believe that complex problems are best solved when more people with different perspective collaborate.
Our Goals
Develop more collaborative relationships between local government and its residents.
Identify recurrent challenges and successful practices in local governmental processes.
Promote solutions to make our local governments’ cultures, policies, and practices more transparent, collaborative, and accountable.
Our Outreach
Our coalition is actively connecting with community members, organizations, elected officials, candidates, and local governmental entities to build a community team to improve government functioning in Lawrence. We function as an educational resource to inform these individuals and organizations about City issues and our coalition’s concerns and challenges, and to collaborate with them to craft potential solutions.
